Building Renovation

About Project

Lekki has some of Lagos’s fastest-aging building stock relative to its age — properties built quickly during the area’s rapid growth years, now old enough to need real repair and finishing work rather than a cosmetic refresh. This project is a straightforward example of that: a full building renovation covering repairs, wall and surface finishing, painting, and interior set-up, delivered over 3 months to bring a Lekki property back to a clean, modern, comfortable standard.

CLIENT BRIEF

Understanding the Vision

The client wanted to give the building a new and fresh look. The aim was to improve the condition of the building, make the space more comfortable, and give it a clean and modern look — a renovation focused as much on condition and comfort as on appearance.

Initial Condition

Before the renovation began, several parts of the building needed repair — surfaces and finishes that had worn down over time and were no longer presenting the building well or holding up structurally in places. It wasn’t a single-issue fix; different sections of the building were at different stages of wear, which meant the renovation had to be planned as one coordinated project rather than a series of unrelated repairs.

Design Concept

With repairs needed across multiple parts of the building, the priority was consistency — making sure that once the work was done, every section of the building looked and functioned like part of the same property, not a patchwork of separately repaired areas. That meant aligning wall finishing, paint colour, and interior set-up decisions across the whole building rather than treating each room or section in isolation.

The Challenge

Some parts of the building needed repair and improvement. There was also a need to make sure the different parts of the building looked good and worked well together — the real difficulty in a project like this isn’t any single repair, it’s making disparate fixes read as one cohesive, finished building by the end.

Our Solution

We checked the building and worked on the areas that needed attention. We carried out the needed repairs, improved the walls and surfaces, painted the building, and worked on the interior. We made sure each part was properly finished before completing the project. In practice, this covered: Full building assessment to identify every area needing repair before work started, rather than fixing issues as they were discovered Structural and surface repairs across the affected sections of the building Wall and surface finishing to bring every repaired area up to the same standard as the rest of the building Full building painting for a consistent, modern look throughout Interior set-up so the finished spaces were comfortable and functional, not just visually refreshed Final finishing checks on each section before the project was signed off as complete

Materials & Finishes

Repair work used materials suited to correcting the specific wear identified during assessment, with wall finishing and paint chosen for durability in Lagos’s climate and for a consistent, modern look across the whole building — the same standard we apply on every residential renovation project.

Execution Process

  1. Full building assessment and scoping of required repairs
  2. Structural and surface repair work
  3. Wall and surface finishing across all affected areas
  4. Full building painting
  5. Interior set-up and finishing
  6. Final quality check and handover

Timeline & Scope

The project was carried out over 3 months, reflecting the scope of a full building renovation — repairs, finishing, painting, and interior set-up — rather than a single-room or cosmetic update.

The Result

The completed renovation gave the home a refreshed and contemporary appearance while improving the functionality and overall experience of the living spaces. The project successfully combined modern finishes, thoughtful space planning, improved lighting, and coordinated interior details to create a home that feels more comfortable, practical, and visually cohesive. The result demonstrates Reinospace’s approach to residential renovation in Nigeria: reimagining existing spaces through smart design, quality execution, and creative solutions.

  • How long does a full building renovation take? This Lekki project took 3 months from assessment to handover. Timeline depends on the number of areas needing repair, the size of the building, and the scope of finishing work required.
  • What’s included in a building renovation like this one? This project covered structural and surface repairs, wall and surface finishing, full building painting, and interior set-up — a coordinated renovation rather than isolated repairs.
  • Do you renovate older properties or only new builds? We work on both. This project specifically involved repairing and finishing an existing building rather than new construction, which is common across Lekki’s older building stock.
  • Can you match repairs and finishes across different parts of a building so they look consistent? Yes — that consistency was a specific priority on this project, and it’s a standard part of how we plan any multi-area renovation.
