About Project

Lagos Island — Marina, Broad Street, Apongbon, Idumota, and the surrounding CBD — is one of the busiest commercial districts in Nigeria, packed with offices, shops, and service businesses competing for attention in tight, high-traffic spaces. In an environment like that, a plain wall is a missed opportunity: it’s the one surface in a business that could be doing branding work for free, all day, every day, and usually isn’t. This project shows how fast that can be fixed. In just 3 days, we turned a bare wall into a hand-painted mural designed specifically to brand the space and make it more attractive to the people using it — no renovation, no downtime beyond the painting itself, just focused mural branding work.

CLIENT BRIEF

Understanding the Vision

The client wanted to give the space a fresh and beautiful look. They wanted an artistic mural that would make the space more attractive and create a good feel for people using the space — effectively using art to do double duty as both décor and brand statement.

Initial Condition

The wall going into this project was a standard, unbranded interior surface — clean and structurally fine, but visually flat and doing nothing to reflect the identity or atmosphere of the space. It’s a common starting point on Lagos Island, where many commercial units are fitted out quickly and functionally, with wall design left as an afterthought.

Design Concept

Because the brief centred on making the space “more attractive” and creating “a good feel,” the design direction leaned toward a mural that would work as a focal point from multiple angles in the room — not just a decoration on one wall, but a piece that shapes how the whole space feels to the people in it. Colour and imagery were chosen to suit the mood the client wanted people in the space to experience, rather than defaulting to a generic decorative pattern.

The Challenge

The main challenge was to create a design that would fit well with the space and also meet the client’s needs within a short time. A 3-day turnaround for a fully hand-painted, custom mural leaves little room for revisions once painting starts, which put the weight of the project on getting the concept and colour selection right at the planning stage, before a single brushstroke went on the wall.

Our Solution

We first looked at the space and planned a design that would fit well. We then prepared the walls, selected the right colours, and created the mural by hand. We made sure the design was neat and well finished. In practice, this covered: On-site assessment of the wall, lighting, and how the space is used, to make sure the mural concept would work in context and not just on a mood board Colour selection matched to the mood and function the client wanted the space to project Surface preparation appropriate for a commercial wall on Lagos Island, done properly despite the short timeline rather than skipped to save time Hand-painted execution of the full mural design, completed by our art team to a commercial finish standard Quality check and finishing to make sure edges, blending, and detail work were neat before handover

Materials & Finishes

The mural was executed with interior-grade paints suited to a commercial environment, with attention to a clean, durable finish able to hold up to daily foot traffic and handling typical of a busy Lagos Island commercial space — the same climate- and traffic-aware material approach we use across all our mural and feature wall work.

Execution Process

  • Site visit and design consultation
  • Colour and concept sign-off with the client
  • Wall surface preparation
  • Hand-painting of the full mural
  • Detail work, finishing, and quality check
  • Handover

Timeline & Scope

The full scope — concept, preparation, and hand-painted mural execution — was completed in 3 days, making this one of our fastest-turnaround mural branding projects, delivered without cutting corners on preparation or finish quality.

The Result

The completed renovation gave the home a refreshed and contemporary appearance while improving the functionality and overall experience of the living spaces. The project successfully combined modern finishes, thoughtful space planning, improved lighting, and coordinated interior details to create a home that feels more comfortable, practical, and visually cohesive. The result demonstrates Reinospace’s approach to residential renovation in Nigeria: reimagining existing spaces through smart design, quality execution, and creative solutions.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

See Questions and Answers
  • Do you paint murals on Lagos Island? Yes. This project — a 3-day artistic mural branding project — was completed on Lagos Island. We take on mural and interior design work across Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and the wider Lagos area, as well as Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, and Benin City.
  • How fast can a mural project like this be completed? This particular mural branding project was completed in 3 days from start to finish. Turnaround depends on wall size, design complexity, and site access — we confirm a specific timeline once we’ve assessed the space.
  • What is “artistic mural branding”? It’s a mural designed specifically to reflect a business’s identity or the mood a space is meant to create — used the same way a business might use colour or a logo, but applied directly to a wall as a hand-painted design, rather than a purely decorative pattern.
  • Can a mural be done in a commercial space without disrupting business? Yes, in most cases. Short-timeline projects like this one are planned to minimise disruption, and we can discuss scheduling around business hours during the consultation stage.
  • Do you offer mural branding for offices and shops, not just homes? Yes. Artistic mural branding is one of our core services for commercial clients — offices, shops, restaurants, and other business spaces — as well as for homes.
